Approve request to abandon a portion of a Federal Patent Easement Number #1201803 lying in the general vicinity of Cloud Road and Central Avenue (Parcel 211- 53-052A). Notice conditions and the request for comment requirements have been met.
Approve “Stop Sign” for all traffic to stop before entering or crossing a THROUGH STREET within the prescribed limits of Cloud Road from 100 feet east of 24th Street to 100 feet west of 28th Street. This is the result of an engineering study being conducted to install Stops on county roadways.
Approve “No Stopping, Standing, Parking Any Time” on New River Road from the cattle guard (Arizona Department of Transportation Right-of-Way) east of the northbound Interstate 17 off-ramp/on-ramp to Interstate 17 Frontage Road.
Approve an expenditure of up to $50,000 for the County Manager to form a working group to gather and compile information necessary to prepare a set of recommendations to the Board of Supervisors regarding the structure, staffing and technology resources of the Elections Department. In addition to executive level staff designated by the Maricopa County Recorder, the working group will be comprised of other executive staff as determined by the County Manager. A preliminary report regarding the structure is due 60-days from the formation of the working group and the final report addressing all items is due 30-days following the preliminary report. Following this initial project, the working group is directed to prepare a long-term elections operations plan for review. The County Manager will establish an online option for public comment so that those comments may be considered by members of the working group. The final report will be presented to the Board of Supervisors and made available online to the public.
Appoint Matt Morales as the Chief Deputy Superintendent of Schools, and set the salary at $60.15 per hour for an annual salary of $125,103.85. This action is effective February 11, 2019. This item was discussed in executive session on January 28, 2019.

TA2018001 –Text Amendment to amend Chapter Maricopa County Zoning Ordinance relating to Off-Site Advertising Signs (Billboards). This request is applicant driven and its purpose is to update the current language within the MCZO to reflect industry standards regarding the C-2, C-3, IND-2, and IND-3 zoning districts.
