Location: Generally located at the southeast corner of Carefree Highway and 7th Street in the Desert Hills area. Status: County staff recommended approval. Board of Supervisors approved.
Approve a Proclamation to recognize Jennifer Toth for her American Public Works Association Top Ten Public Works Leader of the Year, 2019 award.
Approve and authorize the Maricopa County Department of Transportation to rebrand its current Adopt a Highway program, making it Adopt a Road, which will allow the program to be more distinctive to the Maricopa County transportation system and to develop procedures for the implementation of the program.

Request: Variance to permit: 1) Existing side yard setback of 25’ where 30’ is the minimum permitted. Planner: Eric Smith. Status: The county recommended denial saying “The request fails to meet the statutory test for variance approval”.
Approved - BA2019020 Owner: Dennis and Lorraine Showman. Location: 807 E. Joy Ranch Rd. (APN 211-38-002A). Request: Proposed street side setback of 15’ where 30’ is the minimum permitted per MCZO Article 503.4. Status: The county recommended approval. NR/DHCA recommended denial believing the variance was not needed and it would set a bad precedent.
CONTINUED- BA2019019. Applicant: Carolyn Oberholtzer. Location: Shell Station, 3906 W New River Rd. (Parcel 202-12-045) Request: Variance to permit off site advertising sign size of 14 ft x 48 ft and increased height of 66 ft. Status: Maricopa County received much opposition including NR/DHCA. The county staff also recommended denial. The Applicant requested that BOA continue this to 6/20 hearing when hopefully all BOA members are present.

Z2019027. JTM Trucking. Owner: Teresa Mittleider Location 34722 N 16th Street. (Parcel 211-52-071). Request: Special Use Permit to store/park trucks on their large residential property. NR/DHCA recommended approval.
